Kilwon Kim, Senior Researcher of Eco-friendly Ocean development research division, Korea Research Institute of Ships &Ocean Engineering (KRISO). He earned his master's and doctoral degrees on topics related to the analysis and design technology of wavepower devices, one of the marine renewable energy sources. While working at KRISO, he conducted research related to hydrodynamic characterization of energy conversionsystems of wave power generation devices, and also worked on the design andperformance evaluation of PTO devices, generators, and power conversion devices. He is in charge of the real sea operation of the wave power plant developed and operated by KRISO and is conducting research on operation optimization to increase power generationefficiency. He is also analyzing the noise generated by fluid flow and designing resonancechambers for noise reduction.Currently, he is interested in the integrated performanceanalysis of green hydrogen production systems and is developing an analysis model thatintegrates marine energy and water electrolysis systems. He is currently registered as theKorean member for wave power in Section 62600 of IEC TC 114 Board.
