Pierre Failler serves as a professor of Economics at the Business School of University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom. Now as the director of the Centre for Blue Governance at University of Portsmouth, he is also the UNESCO Chair Holder in Blue Governance and the Blue Economy and Climate Change Expert appointed by the EU under the Global Climate Change Action. His research fields focus on the marine and coastal biodiversity and ecosystem services, climate change, international and regional fish trade, and food security. Up to now, he has worked in more than 140 countries, built the close research collaboration with more than 100 universities and research centers in 50 countries, published more than 200 journal papers.
