Qiang Zhang, Professor and Associate head of the Department of Earth System Science at Tsinghua University, and Lead Principal Investigator of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Innovative Research Group. He also serves as Vice Chair of the Committee on Pollution Source Emissions and Control of the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences, Co-Chair of the China Working Group of the Global Emissions InitiAtive (GEIA), andAssociate Editor or Editorial Board Member of several international academic journals, including npj Climate and Atmospheric Science. His primary research focuses on atmospheric composition changes and their climatic and environmental impacts. He led the development of the Multi-resolution Emission Inventory model for China (MEIC), a widely used database in both domestic and international academic communities.
