Sheng Xu is a professor at the School of Economics of Ocean University of China, a doctoral supervisor, and a senior researcher at the Marine Development Research Institute. She serves as the Chair of the Marine Carbon Neutrality Center (COCN) and as the Deputy Director of the Qingdao Marine Committee of the Jiusan Society. She has also been a visiting scholar at the University of California, Berkeley, and at the State University of New York. She is a correspondence reviewer for the Ministry of Education's Changjiang Scholars program, an evaluator for social science foundation projects, and a reviewer for multiple domestic and international academic journals. Additionally, she holds positions on various expert committees for government agencies and think tanks, and is active in several academic institutions and organizations, including the Chinese Pacific Society and the Marine Economy Branch of the Chinese Society of Oceanography.Her research focuses on economic structural transformation and green development. As the chief expert of a major project of the National Social Science Fund, she has led over 20 projects, including those funded by the National Social Science Fund, the Ministry of Education, and national marine soft science projects. She has published more than 100 papers in important academic journals indexed in SCI, SSCI, CSSCI, and EI, and has authored 9 books. She has received over 20 awards for outstanding research achievements from Shandong Province and Qingdao City, along with various honors, with several research outcomes being adopted by national ministries and relevant departments.
