Yisheng Peng completed a post-doctoral research position in the Department of Ecology at Sun Yat-Sen University from August 2008 to November 2011. Subsequently, he has been serving as an Assistant/Associate Professor in the School of Environmental Science and Engineering at the same university since February 2012. Additionally, he held a Research Fellow position at the Australian Rivers Institute (ARI), Griffith University, from March 2015 to March 2016. Currently, he is a council member of the IUCN Mangrove Specialist Group (MSG), a role he has held since April 2025. He also serve as a council member of the Wetland Conservation Committee within the Chinese Society of Natural Resources since August 2021, and as a council member of the Mangrove Ecosystem Committee under the Ecological Society of China since August 2012. His research primarily focuses on the conservation and restoration of mangrove and coastal wetlands. He is also interested in the ecological impacts and management of exotic mangrove species, as well as the effects of human activities on the ecological functions of mangrove ecosystems.
