Yitong Chen

Chen Yitong is an Associate Professor and Ph.D. supervisor at the Law School of Ocean University of China and currently serves as Deputy Dean of the Graduate School. Her academic expertise lies primarily in international law of the sea, polar law, and climate change law. She was a visiting scholar at the Climate Law Center of the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University in the United States and served as a member of the Board of Governors of the University of the Arctic (UArctic) from 2014 to 2017. Chen Yitong has participated as an expert adviser with China’s Delegation at intergovernmental negotiation conferences, including CCAMLR-40, ATCM-44, and ATCM-45, and is also a ratified expert for the Third World Ocean Assessment (WOA III) of the United Nations. She has published approximately thirty articles in both Chinese and English, authored one academic monograph, and frequently chairs, organizes, and actively participates in various international and domestic conferences. She has led many research projects at national, provincial, and ministerial levels. Chen Yitong is the Executive Editor and Editorial Board member of Marine Development and serves as a reviewer for several internationally recognized academic journals.
